Proof of Employment or Income
The University of Kansas partners with The Work Number to provide employees and retirees with an automated process for employment and income verification within a matter of minutes. The secure service can be used for mortgage applications, reference checks, loan applications, apartment leases, government aid or most other applications that require proof of employment. The Work Number is widely known to mortgage lenders, banks, apartment complexes and others who may need proof of your employment or income, and it is easy for them to use.
If you have worked for another organization that uses this service, your prior data will be shown along with your KU data. Neither KU nor The Work Number will charge employees for this service.
Requested information is accessed directly from The Work Number website by verifiers. Employees and retirees with active KU Online IDs can access information by logging in to the myKU portal and selecting "Employee," then selecting "Work Number" in the Benefits tile. The Work Number can be used anytime, anywhere – available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Both the Lawrence and Medical Center organizations have provided historical data starting as of calendar year 2013. Employment and income is updated every biweekly payday.
Verifiers are required to secure your signature on their document(s) for income verification authorization.
Step-by-step instructions for using The Work Number are available on the Human Resource Management Employment and Salary Verification page.
