Get your W-2

The State of Kansas issues W-2's by mail or online.  The University of Kansas does not have access to print W-2's for employees.

 

By Mail:

Your W-2 will be mailed to the address Human Resources has on file as your home address.  Instructions on updating your address

If you had previously given consent to receive your W-2 online, it will not be mailed to you unless you withdraw consent. 

 

Online:

Log into the State of Kansas Self Service website and follow the W-2 online instructions.

 

Duplicate Copy:

You can access your W-2 online at any time.

OR

Send a request in writing to the Payroll Office or email payroll@ku.edu

Include the following:
  • Full Name
  • Address (your W-2 will be mailed here)
  • Last 4 digits of your social security number
  • Year(s) of W-2 requested

Your W-2 will be mailed by the State of Kansas within 2 weeks.

 

Inactive Employees

Employees who are no longer with KU, regardless of reason for separation, will automatically have their W-2 mailed to the address on file with Human Resources.  However, you will also have access to the State of Kansas Self-Service site to get your W-2 online for 18 months after leaving employment.
